Winnie the Pooh quilt

I had this Winnie the Pooh cot panel in my stash for so long....

I selected some matching fabrics from the Spotlight clearance table (including the backing which is a beautiful soft and warm pink baby flannel).....

I hand quilted the middle section and attached about 20 flower buttons I received in a
Crafty Mamas swap. Then I machine quilted around the borders.
Now its on one of the girl's beds and she's very happy with it.

Lovely weekend

We spent the weekend at my husband's parent's farm. The weather couldn't have been more glorious, we spent most of our time outdoors working in the garden, plucking ducks and pottering around.
The children had a marvellous time running and riding their bikes in the wide open space.
Gee I miss looking out the window and seeing open fields and being surrounded by the huge skies. Even during a long drought there is so much beauty in the country. My urges to get out of the suburbs grows daily....

These quilts were made by my husband's great aunt many a moon ago. They were all folded in one of the bedrooms at the farm, I simply had to spread them out on the beds. This style of quilt is not my cup of tea but as a crafter I have a great appreciation of the work that went into them and the fabrics of a bygone era.

New doll

In the shop now! 15 inches tall, beautiful alpaca and merino hair. She has knitted leg warmers and a pet butterfly. She was a real joy to make.

HAPPY EASTER!

Wishing you all a very happy and holy Easter from my family to you and yours!

Waldorf boy

New doll in the shop today!
I've used that gorgeous mohair for his curly mop and knitted him some woolies (its almost winter here after all!)

Natural Kids Treasury

How exciting, one of my dolls has been featured in the Natural Kids Treasury, you can check it out here.

"So little to do, so much time..

wait - reverse that!" The famous words of Willy Wonka. A coin purse kit from Nicole Mallalieu Design .
Their customer service is excellent, by the way.

Lovely wool parcel from Stokesay.
I couldn't believe how quickly these came in the mail.

I'm also working on 2 dolls and clothes, a quilt for one of the girls, still tweaking that embroidery and knitting some bears. Wish me luck!

A big thankyou to all my customers and others who support my crafting efforts, its so lovely to be rewarded for what you do!

And the winner is.........

Congratulations Rachelle, please email me with your details so I can send off your doll!

Making waldorf dolls

I found this interesting post on low long it takes to make a waldorf doll and what work you put into it. It can be disappointing when people won't buy your dolls unless they are cheap, they just don't seem to realise the time it takes and the money you outlay to get the materials in the first place.
I'll be back later today to draw the GIVEAWAY winner.
