I've just spent (wasted?) a goodly amount of time making a new banner for my blog following a tutorial using Picnik. Very easy to follow. Only problem is, when I place the banner on my blog it suddenly becomes a headache inducing pixellated blur. Tried to fix it. A lot. Can't.
Any ideas?

It may be the resolution that you're saving the file as in Picnik.
Picnik tends to default to a smaller file, but you can change it as you're saving.
Yes...definately a resolution issue...when you do it on picnik, just save it "as is" the only thing that you may have to change is the size...basically just play around with the numbers on the width...I had to load our new header several times before I had it the way I wanted it! Picnik is amazing though, once you get the hang of it. I edit all of my photos there now.
good luck

definitely agree with the others about resolution.
if you need a hand let me know, I am happy to try & edit it for you.

Thanks so much for your kind offer Cathie!
I'm not sure if you've resolved this issue (I'm always late to the party), but other bloggers are reporting this frustrating problem too. It seems to be an issue with Blogger rather than anything you've done.
So, I log in tonight and it's totally fixed - leaving me more perplexed than ever but happier!
I wonder if I can try uploading the original banner I wanted now?....
If you have any more trouble, here's a link to another blogger's post on how to fix the problem: http://www.dana-made-it.com/2011/01/how-to-fix-your-header-in-blogger.html
Thanks very much for your help and the link!
