The 4 year painting

I started this watercolour of gazanias about 4 years ago and abandoned it, feeling I'd bitten off more than I could chew. I got it out last week and said to myself "Right, you're finishing this, even if it means you stuff it up totally". So it's finished. It's better to have something imperfectly finished than have it lurking as a reminder of a failed attempt.
Yes, I'm very glad I finished it :)

It is beautiful. Reminds me of one of those botanical prints you see framed up in English Country Living!

Thank you, that is a huge compliment! I've been looking at a lot of botanical art lately and I'm just in awe of their accuracy.

While the picture was downloading I thought it was something you stitched by hand, lovely needlework then I looked back up at the title again ... Then read your text ... Really lovely work, the texture is soothing ( if that makes any sense?).
